CD-ROMs have specific advantages over downloadable material – they're tangible and do not compromise bandwidth while allowing the user to access large quantities of data. CD-ROMs may be an opportunity to promote a particular product or concept which can be communicated with eye-catching graphics and informational jackets, or cut into custom shapes to attract the user’s attention.  CD-Rom and DVD programs incorporate any combination of video, audio, animation, images, graphics, text, interactive elements, web-links and custom software.  As such, the potential uses are enormous.
